Alphabeat - DJ
Added: 13/05/10
Release Date: 31 May 2010

On hearing a band like Alphabeat you wonder if they might have been more at home in the 90’s. The latest single from their new album ‘The Beat Is…’, entitled ‘DJ’, brings with it the standard of music expected from the band after their hugely successful first album – true pop music that you can really get up and dance to. The lyrics ‘I could be dancing all night’ never had more meaning than with this song. It’s a real get-up-and-go song, with a style reminiscent of the B52’s which you can’t help but smile while listening to.
The song does, however, seem to move away from the 80’s influences normally seen with Alphabeat and into the 90’s, with synthesisers and a more predominant electro-feel than in previous singles. Their music works flawlessly though, and truly underlines the band as the only remaining pop group in the UK.
Danish sextet Alphabeat will release the third single ‘DJ’ from their new album ‘The Beat Is…’ on 31 May with Fascination Records.
