Four Days in May

Four friends who play four instruments

Genre: Indie
Location: Norwich

In January 2009, Tom got bored of playing his songs on his guitar in his bedroom and decided to record them properly, in a studio with flashing lights and buttons and knobs and the like.

He invited his friends to learn the songs and record them with him: Lee returned from months of travelling across Africa and America to play the bass, Daniel Renzo Reynolds agreed to play the pots and pans in yet another band, and Spangek quietly gave up his bass duties in a capital-based band in order to join on guitars.

Over four days in May 2009, seven songs were recorded at Plug Studios. A short run of shiny discs were pressed, and the '...for the lights E.P.' was born, still available to order now from the In An Emergency Dial Webstore.

In June 2009, the debut live performance took place at Norwich Arts Centre, supporting Big Scary Monsters signings Pulled Apart By Horses, followed soon after by more local support slots with more Big Scary Monsters signings Kevin Devine and Holy State.

What followed was an autumn of almost-acoustic gigs at their favourite boozer. During one of these performances they were approached by a man, adorned with jewels, who was bored with producing number-one singles and million-selling remixes, and thought he'd offer these chancers the opportunity to record in his studio, with flashing lights and buttons and knobs and the like.

A period of writing/recording/re-writing/re-recording then came, as the four men honed their sound whilst writing new material and refining the old. Now that 2010 is well underway, they are ready to pour this stuff into your ears with the new CD "174 Miles" proposed to be released late April.
